Beautiful grounds, exceptional service. I came for a birthday spa day and was so impressed with everything Rancho Valencia has to offer. I especially want to highlight my experience with Sheryl (in event coordination)—she went above and beyond to make me feel truly special on my birthday. I honestly wouldn’t be writing this review if it weren’t for her thoughtful gesture and impactful service. I’m a sucker for great service, and she absolutely delivered. She deserves all the praise!

Our stay at Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa was nothing short of magical—an absolute highlight of our family getaway. From the very first moment we pulled up to the entrance gate, the service was spectacular and set the tone for an incredibly warm and attentive experience throughout our visit. The gentleman stationed at the gate was exceptionally welcoming and helpful, greeting us with a genuine smile and clear directions on how to reach check-in. It immediately made us feel valued and at ease. Upon arriving at check-in, Andrew was outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, taking the time to explain the layout of the resort, pointing out key amenities, and even suggesting a perfect morning walk for our family that wound through the beautiful grounds—such a thoughtful touch that made our stay feel personalized right from the start. As we stepped into our room, the thoughtful gestures continued: refreshing drinks awaited us, and there was an adorable stuffed animal waiting for our two-year-old son, which instantly brought a huge smile to his face. It was such a sweet, family-oriented welcome that showed how much they care about making every guest, especially the little ones, feel special. Efran, who helped us get settled in our room, was wonderfully kind and thorough. He patiently walked us through all the amenities, demonstrating how to use the indoor and outdoor fireplaces (which we loved cozying up by in the evenings) and the private outdoor hot tub. His enthusiasm and helpfulness made everything feel effortless. The property itself is incredibly beautiful, with lush, manicured grounds that exude elegance and tranquility. One of the best features is having your own private casita-style room where you can park right in front—no long walks with luggage or kids in tow. The rooms are very spacious, filled with charm, and beautifully appointed with thoughtful details that give them a luxurious yet homey feel. The outdoor area attached to our room was absolutely stunning—a private paradise with the fireplace flickering softly and the hot tub ready for relaxation. Our two-year-old son absolutely loved toddling around out there, exploring safely and happily in the fresh air. Every morning, they delivered fresh-squeezed orange juice right to our door—a really nice, indulgent touch that started our days on such a bright note. The grounds offer a truly beautiful walk that takes you past vibrant gardens, the charming chicken coop, olive trees, and lemon trees heavy with fruit. It’s peaceful, scenic, and perfect for a leisurely family stroll. The spa is breathtakingly beautiful and deeply relaxing, providing the ultimate escape. The gym is impressive—spacious, open, and equipped with plenty of high-quality gear. They even offer a sauna, steam room, and cold plunge for that perfect wellness circuit. For families, the resort shines with its thoughtful amenities. While there’s an adults-only pool for those seeking quiet, there’s also a dedicated kids’ pool nearby, complete with fun games like Connect Four, arcade games, foosball, and ping-pong. They provide pool toys for the children too, making it genuinely family-friendly and enjoyable for all ages. The dining room has so much charm, with friendly staff who go above and beyond. The fireplaces, soft lighting, and classic architecture add tremendous character and warmth to the entire property. What makes Rancho Valencia truly special is its versatility: it’s an idyllic spot for adults looking for a romantic or peaceful getaway, yet it’s equally wonderful for families, with thoughtful touches everywhere that make everyone feel welcomed and pampered. We can’t recommend it highly enough—it’s pure luxury wrapped in genuine hospitality. We’ll be dreaming of our return!

This spa is an absolute 10/10. It’s a beautiful, serene place to relax and enjoy a treatment. I visited recently at 32 weeks pregnant, and David was my masseuse—he had the perfect balance of gentle yet firm pressure. It’s an ideal spot for a prenatal massage. They even have a specially designed bed for pregnant women, so you can comfortably lie on your stomach. Thank you to Cassandra (the manager) and David for an amazing spa day!

The spa treatments and amenities are absolutely wonderful at this beautiful resort! The staff goes above and beyond to make our birthday celebrations perfect. We will see you again soon!

Incredible vibes! Victor was the best, really great service, went above and beyond. Brittanee teaches an amazing yoga class. Highly recommend coming here for the day, taking her class, sitting by the pool and getting drinks at the pony bar.

We’ve been coming to Rancho Valencia for 20 years and have never once been disappointed. We always stay in the same room—it truly feels like our home away from home. The staff is absolutely amazing—attentive, professional, and always going above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The facilities just keep getting better, now with pickleball and padel courts adding even more fun to our visits. And I have to mention the spa area—it’s one of my favorite places anywhere. Peaceful, beautifully designed, and the perfect way to unwind. Rancho Valencia continues to exceed our expectations every single time.

I was visiting San Diego and randomly ended up at Rancho Valencia — and wow, what a surprise! This place is unbelievable. I booked a padel lesson with Coach Charlie, and it turned out to be the highlight of my trip. Charlie is an exceptional coach. He immediately understood my level, gave me clear corrections, and helped me improve my game in just one session. His energy, professionalism, and passion for padel are on another level. If you’re in San Diego — whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player — you have to book a lesson with Coach Charlie. Thank you, Charlie! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.
